 The musician Nouri Rhaibani

The musician Nouri Rhaibani was born in Damascus in 1939.

He studied music in Germany in 1959, and obtained a diploma in composing music and playing the piano from the Higher Institute of Music in Leipzig.

He worked as an assistant opera leader, and a choir leader in the theatre of Freiburg for a year after he performed the Creolin operetta of Jacques Offenbach.

He was nominated by the Opera House and the German Ministry of Culture to study Symphony Orchestra leading in Dresden in 1973, where he obtained a diploma in this domain.

He worked as the Symphony first leader in Raishnbach when he led many known Orchestras such as Hala Band, Berlin Radio Big Band, and Leipzig Opera House.

His broad activities attracted European cities and countries such as St. Petersburg and Kaliningrad, where he led the Symphony Orchestras of each of them.

In the field of music composing (chamber music, symphonic music), Rhaibani developed many Arabic folk tunes into symphonies that he performed in front of the German audience in various concerts.

He performed several Carl Orff music and musical distributions as well as percussion music.

Between 1975 and 1980, he composed soundtracks for many plays including the “Crazy Diary” play directed by Fawaz Sager and the “Born-Twice Heroes” film By Salah Dihni.

He was honored by the President of the Federal Republic of Germany who awarded him the Order of Merit of the first level.

The Musician Nuri Rahibani performed several musical concerts in his homeland Syria, and was honored by the Ministry of Expatriates for his excellence and efforts in developing world music.
